Going From Home Haircuts to a Tribeca Salon

My best friend’s mom is the most frugal person that I’ve ever met in my life. She clips coupons in a day and age when no one carries coupons anymore. She makes her own laundry detegent. And she never took her kids to a salon to get their hair cut.
My best friend isn’t quite as frugal as her mother but she’s picked up a lot of the same money-saving habits that her mom had. One of those is that she always cuts her own hair. As her best friend, I felt that it was my duty to tell her that she could afford to splurge a little on a cut from an actual salon.
Of course, I didn’t just blurt this out. Instead, I brought it up at a time when she needed it most. She had just gone through a divorce after she’d caught her husband cheating on her with a woman who could best be described as a vixen. My friend’s self-esteem had taken a blow and her frumpy home hair cut wasn’t helping.
I scheduled us a full day of pampering at a Tribeca Salon and Spa in order to help her over this hump. Believe me, she was horrified at the idea of spending money at a Tampa Hair Salon when she could just cut her hair at home. But she wasn’t in the right frame of mind to protest. I issued instructions to her stylist to make her look like a movie star.
Obviously one trip to a South Tampa Salon didn’t heal the wounds of her failed marriage. But it sure brightened up her day and gave her a self-esteem boost that she really needed. She still cuts her hair at home most of the time but she schedules an annual salon visit on her old wedding anniversary to re-invest in her own appearance.
