Being the only female in a house full of males makes life interesting.  We were discussing the possibility of a hot tub the other day when the comment was made that with 3 males in the house, we could just sit in the pool and make our own bubbles.  While the thought was very humorous, in the end, the repercussions of such an attempt led us to an internet search for spas and hot tubs.  Because we have children, we wanted to be sure to address any safety issues that could arise while using outdoor spas.  Safe Kids USA has a very good website that gave us a checklist of items to be aware of as we researched our purchase.  We found that there are many family friendly hot tubs available at a very reasonable price.  We found that we could get a basic spa that would fit all four of us for under $3000!  If we are willing to expand our budget, we can add a TV so the kids can watch cartoons or a movie while we relax!   To my great relief, none of them required that we make our own bubbles, although I suspect my husband and 2 boys were a little disappointed that we would not have a self-powered jet system.   At any rate, it’s good to know there are cheap hot tubs out there for families on a budget.
