How to Fit an Office into Small House Plans
Posted by hbrp on 05/30/08 in Real Estate

The individual who is making small house plans will be highly conscious about how to best use the space that is going to be available for the home. There won’t typically be room for a separate home office when making plans for a small house so these people often get creative in how they’re going to fit office space into the home.
Some of the methods people have used to create an office in a small space include:
- Convertible furniture. A bed that can be put up against the wall to create a desk space is one example of this type of furniture.
- Flexible garage plans. A loft in the garage can be an office space that doesn’t take away from the rest of the home.
- Corners of rooms. A small table with a computer in one corner and a desk for work and research in another corner can provide the office space you need.
- Excellent storage design. Much of the items used in an office can be stored away when not in use.
Making an office out of room in a small house requires that you be creative. Think about how to make spaces in the home that can serve multiple purposes at different times throughout the day or week.
