Using home plans to aid in the design and orchestrating of your new home will be very helpful to both you and the builder. In many cases the builder that you will be using will be able to provide you with house plans free, that you will be able to choose from and incorporate into the design of your home. Depending of if you are choosing to use house plans or if you are going to have a design on a larger scale, you should be able to find a design for the home that is free.
Use these house plans to be able to build your dream home, or you may even be able to use the plans of another house that will allow to live in someone else’s dream home and be able to truly dream. Imagine you have a home plan that will use every bit of your ideas and you are able to design and incorporate all of the different ideas that are available to you and to know where you can put things so you will not have a house that will not stand. Put it all on paper and let the builder go with it, watch your dream come to life.

Odds are that someone has designed something similar to what you have in mind. There are likely floor plans out there already drawn up with many of the features you want in your home. Just find something similar and make modifications.

Don’t forget about the internet. You can do a Google search for floor plans and probably find a lot of options. The internet is a great resource for stuff like that.

Make sure you make a plan that your builder can understand. If you need to, get some help in doing your design. You will thank yourself later.

The home building process was an amazing one for me and my husband. My husband drew up the plans, and while he isn’t an architect, they were good enough for the builder to use.

Definitely get some help doing your floor plans. I tried to draw up my own and I didn’t know what I was doing. Eventually my builder had to sit and go over each area of the house and tell me where I messed up, etc.

Luckily for me when I was considering building, there were some models of homes that we could look at. Of course, I was looking for a doublewide home on a brick foundation. However, sometimes models can be of assistance.
