Your doctor has just told you that you’re suffering from a condition called sleep apnea. She has recommended that you go to a CPAP Supply store to purchase a sleep apnea mask which will assist you in improving nighttime breathing and relieving the symptoms of the illness. What your doctor hasn’t told you is that there are two very different kinds of masks to choose from.
When you go to purchase a sleep apnea mask, you will find that there are several different options divided into two basic types. The first type is the full face mask and the second type is the nasal mask. The major difference between these two masks is the level of comfort that you’ll experience when wearing each of them. There are people who prefer each so it may be a matter of trial and error to figure out what you want to purchase.
If you end up needed to purchase additional equipment to treat your sleep apnea, you will find that other questions arise. You’ll need to learn about bipap machines and other advanced technology. But you’ll always want to keep comfort at the forefront of your decision-making process. If you’re not comfortable at night, you’re not going to sleep right anyway!
