Hugh Jackman is just about the hottest guy out there right now.  I fell in love with him not only in his movie, The Prestige, but also when he hosted the Academy Awards this year.  And last night, I just watched the movie, Australia, starring both he and Nicole Kidman.

Australia is a movie that reminds me a lot of The Thorn Birds in that it depicts a stock station in the outback.  And it makes you wonder whether that area is as desolate and dry as it appears it used to be in these movies.  Also, how one rain shower can make it all green and pretty again.  Do they irrigate it nowadays?  You know, throw around a few garden wall fountains?

These two movies show pretty wealthy folk in big mansion-type houses on these stations.  True, they’re both set in the early part of the 20^th century, but they had fountains in other places back then-why not in Australia?  A few wall fountains and the places would have looked a lot more livable. 

I guess they just wanted to depict a nice hot and sweaty (and unbuttoned!) Hugh Jackman.  Well, they succeeded-he was just dreamy in the movie.
