Handling Eight Babies

I can’t imagine how much work this woman on TV who just had the octuplets is in for!   I have a two year-old and I’m exhausted all the time.  I mean, it’s just unimaginable!  You’d need nursery workers (plural!) 24/7.  And how do you possibly take care of even quadruplets and not neglect your other six children?

And the cost!  Formula, clothing, baby bedding.  At that point, would it be better to go the cloth diaper route to save literally thousands?  Or do you get the disposable diapers just to maintain your sanity?  How in the world would you potty train that many children simultaneously?

I haven’t heard yet of the ages of her other six children.  But the whole situation just makes me so sad.  I believe nature sets you up for the size of litter your species is meant to handle in order to preserve the optimum environment for their health and well-being.  It’s no accident our normal birth number is 1, though 2 or 3 at once can be doable.  I just absolutely have no concept of how this woman is going to be able to handle this!  Just supervising their play time safely would be next to impossible:  the state itself only allows in-home daycare at a rate of 12 to 1!
