Dorm Wars

When I lived in the dorms the first couple years of college the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer’ Training Corps) and the Air Force ROTC guys had a friendly competition going involving non-lethal small arms.
A few of the guys knew about this surplus website where we could basically buy riot gear, from shields and armor to batons to grenades with little rubber pellets in them. It was a little ridiculous, but we found a great little item for our game-a blowgun that could somehow shoot up to about 150 feet with decent accuracy and strength.
Our dorm was made up of rooms surrounding a courtyard, so we would torture the Air Force guys by lying on our stomachs on the second or third floor and hitting them as they were walking through the courtyard.
They had their moments too with their bb guns, but they were just lacking the same element of cleverness, plus it’s hard to hide anywhere with a rifle.
The only time they really got us was when they basically cheated. The point was to do it simply without any gimmicks, but they decided they were tired of losing and went out and bought commercial airsoft guns.
And I’m not talking about a Tokyo Marui handgun. I mean KWA airsoft rifles. One of them even had a scope.
They ambushed us while we were crossing the courtyard and got us pretty good I must admit! Residential life confiscated all of our stuff, and threatened to have us expelled if they found anymore “weapons” in our possession from that day forward. Thankfully for us we were all in protective gear and Residential life couldn’t do much since we were at least safe with our combat play.
