Art school and animation

I really want to pursue a career in computer animation, but there are so many great animation programs out there that I’m a little bit stumped as to which program would be the best for me. I know a bit about animation from some online programs I’ve dabbled with over the past year, but I really think I’d like to study animation in school so that I can learn the proper techniques and I don’t start my career off with any self taught bad habits.
A local art institute offers some classes in animation, but I’m wondering if it’s the best choice. I was also thinking about a web design school that is further away from home and would require me moving. Both schools seem to be offering similar classes in animation.
Can anyone tell me if it would be better to take animation from a school specifically for web design or if going to an art school would be okay? If I can get the same level of training regardless, I would like to stay where I am and not have the hassle of moving. But if the design school is a better option, then I would definitely be willing to move.
