I always thought that being a Tampa criminal lawyer would be a rewarding career full of adventure and drama.  I guess that I had always dreamed that my life would be much like movies you see on the big screen – full of action and suspense.

But sadly I have a ways to go before I hit that point in my life.  In fact, since I don’t have my own practice, I spend a lot of time preparing casework for my boss, and though it is valuable experience, it is sure not as glamorous as I had dreamed.

Take tonight for example.  We have been working on the final preparations for tomorrow’s court case for the last six hours, and if we are lucky, we might get out of here by 2 AM.  I know that it is important for us to be sure of the facts, and go through how the case will turn out, but at the same time, I would really like to get to bed and get some sleep.

But my boss likes to do whatever we can to ensure we win.  Truth be told, we have a very good track record and in most cases it is due to this obsession with being prepared for the courtroom, so I shouldn’t complain – it is time well spent.
