Three program that will help push your business forward

If you are feeling like your business is a little bit stagnant right now, then perhaps you need some fresh new programs to get things going. It doesn’t matter what business you in, there are times when things can get a little bit tough. This is especially true when the economy starts to struggle a little bit. So what are some good programs for helping your business get on the right track?

Wellness programs  - These are programs that will encourage your employees to take care of their medical issues. They will be rewarded for having the proper insurance and keeping themselves in good working shape. If your people aren’t healthy, they can’t help your business succeed.

Customer rewards program - As the name suggests, this is a type of program that will help encourage your customers to keep coming to you instead of shopping around. This not only builds a positive relationship, but it can become a true win-win for you and the customer in the long run.

Employee recognition program - Perhaps the problem with your business is that your workers don’t have anything to work for. They are just punching a time clock ticket, and they don’t feel a part of the team. When you go with one of these programs, you are showing them that their contribution is not only important; it is also necessary to your overall success.

The employee recognition program you touch on is very often overlooked. It is very important to give your employees a sense of ownership if you want them to go above and beyond the basics that you require of them.

Maybe I’m just not as “rah rah” as some people, but I don’t agree that making me feel like I’m part of a team is going to make me do a better job. After all, it is just a job, it is not my life.

Customer rewards have been around for a long time. Look at the prize in the Cracker Jack box. What do you think that is? How long have those been around?

Wellness programs make a lot of sense. But where do you draw the line? Is it OK to tell your employees that they can’t be overweight or smoke? I think not.

Employers in Japan have been using wellness programs with huge success for decades. Employees are required to do calisthenics while at work every single day. And look how well it has worked for them!
