The Link Between Home Business and Drug Addiction

Working for yourself has its perks. However, running a business entirely out of your home also has a significant number of drawbacks. Several of those drawbacks combine together to lead to a bigger one which plagues a number of people who work from home: drug addiction.
Here are a few of the reasons that drug addiction is common among people who work from home:
- You set your own hours. You can sleep through the hangover.
- There is no one to report to. Since you don’t have a boss or co-workers, there’s no one to tell you to nip it in the bud. You can even leave the drugs right on your desk and no one will know.
- Isolation. Working from home can create a sense of isolation which increases the likelihood that you’ll develop an addiction.
- Pressure. You need to make your business work. Cocaine addiction and other high-performace drug addiction is a common result.
Working from home doesn’t automatically mean that you’re going to develop a drug addiction. However, if you are a recreational drug user or have a history of drug problems in your family, you might want to seek out assistance in preventing the problem from developing. Prevention is always better than intervention whenever possible.
